The town of Drumheller is located on the Red Deer River in the Badlands of east-central Alberta, Canada, only a 90-minute drive (110 km / 68 mi) northeast of Calgary, Surrounded by the picturesque Badlands, and with the richest deposits of fossils and dinosaur bones in North America, Drumheller is home to the world-famous Royal Tyrrell Museum. Drumheller is also famous for the Canadian Badlands Passion Play, a dramatic portrayal of the life and death of Christ staged in a natural 2500 seat outdoor amphitheatre formed by the massive coulees.
